در زبان انگلیسی عبارات، اصطلاحات، ضرب المثل ها جزء مهمی از محاوره زبان انگلیسی می باشند. از این اصطلاحات در هر دو حالت نوشتاری و گفتاری استفاده می شود به دلیل اینکه idioms ها همیشه معنی اصلی عبارت را ندارند و به صورت استعاره ای معنی می شوند. شما باید با معانی این عبارات و اصطلاحات آشنا شوید و زمان استفاده از هر کدام را بدانید. در نگاه اول این موضوع کمی سخت جلوه می کند اما یادگیری idioms ها کاری جذاب و سرگرم کننده است مخصوصا زمانی که آن ها را با عبارات و اصطلاحات زبان فارسی مقایسه می کنیم.

Idioms رایج در زبان انگلیسی
در این قسمت به بیشترین idiom هایی که در روزمره زبان انگلیسی مورد استفاده می باشد اشاره شده است. شما در فیلم ها و سریال ها این اصطلاحات را مکررا خواهید شنید و می توانید در بیشتر مواقع از این اصطلاحات استفاده نمایید.

فراوانی و ارزانی
e.g. With such high unemployment, workers are a dime a dozen.
3. Beat around the bush
طفره رفتن
e.g. Stop beating around the bush and tell me what happened.
4. Better late than never
دیر رسیدن بهتر از هرگز نرسیدن است. البته این اصطلاحات برای موارد دیگر نیز بکار می رود.
e.g. It’s been a long time coming but better late than never.
You can tell him now, remember better late than never.
5. Bite the bullet
سختی را تحمل کردن، سوختن و ساختن
